An Introduction to Fragrance: Calvin Klein Euphoria

wolfandmoroko an introduction to fragrance calvin klein euphoria

After reading the fragrance blog Bois de Jasmin for years, in January, I made the decision to take the plunge and explore the world of perfume. Here is an introduction to Calvin Klein’s Euphoria, the fragrance that I’m currently enjoying.

While it may not be new (released in 2005), I find the notes (scents) that make Euphoria so sexy and captivating. It’s a wonderful blend of fruits, florals and creamy scents.  I’ve always been drawn to warm, creamy scents like vanilla and coconut, so it’s no surprise that I love this fragrance which Sephora describes as “a contrast between exotic fruits and seductive florals, for a rich, creamy, seductive signature.

Which notes weave this sensorial concoction do you ask? Well, due to my inability (for now) to speak fragrance fluently, allow me to quote Bois de Jasmin. “Created by Dominique Ropion, Carlos Benaïm and Loc Dong, Calvin Klein Euphoria marries fall fruit, pomegranate and persimmon, with patchouli and woods, adding a dose of creamy notes to round out the composition. Subtle patchouli is more evident at first until it becomes veiled by a sheer floral accord with lemon, apricot and cured tea leaves facets. Floral ornamentation is sustained over a dark woody vanilla, with a rum redolent caramel note. Ambery warmth seeps through the layers of the composition, which loses its juicy touch, and instead reveals a fruity musk note that contrasts nicely with a creamy note of sandalwood. One can certainly notice an influence of Angel’s juxtaposition of fruit and patchouli, however, the similarities vanish relatively quickly under an overlay of floral notes. While Euphoria does not take the concept of pomegranate into uncharted waters, it offers an elegantly composed interpretation.Source.

A perfectly worded description for (what I consider) a wonderful perfume. As a beginner in the world of fragrance, I’m drawn to floral scents that can be worn all year round in sunny Kampala. Calvin Klein Euphoria makes the cut!

As I continue to grow in my fragrance journey, I can’t wait to see where my nose will take me next.

Have you explored the world of fragrance? What is your current fragrance favorite?

  1. Ah, fragrance! You have brought me(direct translation hihi). I usually have like 5 ‘scents’ at once(due to impulsive spending on them but also because I don’t like it when someone can identify. Mystery please 😉 But I love Eternity by Calvin Klein. I have changed most I had but it’s the one I have had longest. And oh, don’t tell anyone but the only fragrance to wear with a little black dress is ‘Amber’ by Micheal Kors 😉

    • Hi Priscilla! Thanks for your kind words.
Any information you may need about a certain product is linked in the text 🙂
And true, due to the huge amount of substandard products in the local market, you will notice that most of the products can be easily purchased online even by Ugandans. If the products are available locally, I make sure to mention where they can be found.
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
