As you know, I’ve recently been on the hunt for some great serums and the concentrated goodness they bring to skin. It was this hunt that brought my attention to some promising serums that are proudly #MadeInAfrica. Behold…
A product of the South African brand’s anti aging line called “Advantage”, this serum contains powerful antioxidants like niacinamide and green tea extract. It also has hydrating hyaluronic acid and ceramides which support the structure of the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. The serum also has jojoba oil, a great moisturizer which has similar properties to sebum, making it great for normal, dry and oily skin.
The Vitamin C serum has L-Ascorbic Acid (LAA), a superstar at brightening the complexion, which I’m all about this year. It also has aloe vera which will hopefully soothe any potential irritation from the LAA. The packaging, also prevents any light and air from ruining the Vitamin C. Win!
DermaFix also has another serum in the range, Hyaluronic Plus, but I’m not sure the type of hyaluronic acid in this formulation can actually penetrate and hydrate the skin, so I’d pass on that.
This serum sounds quite hydrating. It’s packed with oils like avocado, evening primrose and babassu. It seems like just the type of moisturization dry skin would love during the colder months!
Probiotics may help to heal eczema so this serum would be the perfect opportunity for someone with the concern to test out that theory. Esse also has a wide range of serums that are worth checking out.
A well packaged retinol serum?! I’m in! Retinol is one of the best age well ingredients out there. Increasing skin cell renewal and reduces sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles.
The palmitoyl oligopeptide in this serum caught my eye. Studies show that this peptide may increase collagen production, resulting in firmer skin. Theravine also has some great serums like the:
- Hydravine Polyphenol Face serum which has antioxidants like Vitamin A, E and roobois leaf extract.
- Vitavine Anti Wrinkle Skin Booster which has antioxidants like Vitamin C and white wine extract.
- Face Relaxant Ampoules which contain skin firming Argireline, which reduces wrinkles and fine lines.
This serum contains vitamin A, squalene and peptides which all work to improve the structure and appearance of the skin.
Environ has a range of serums which are well formulated with proven beneficial ingredients like peptides and antioxidants. They should be on every African’s essential skin care list.
When I came across the Nimue site, I was at a loss for words…So. Many. Well packaged goodies! I’d love to try all their serums and nearly everything else. I have one major question though, where are the ingredient lists online Nimue? Where?
Placecol has such beautifully packaged serums I didn’t even know where to start, so I just decided to add them all to to the list. However, I also need to ask Placecol…where are the ingredient lists Placecol? Where?
What are some of your favorite serums and moisturizers by African brands? Let me know in the comments!
All images belong to the individual brands. I do not own them.
