Am I the only one who can’t stand drinking green tea? I find it so…green- I imagine that’s what the color tastes like.. The taste shouldn’t fool you though, green tea has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
In skin care, the active in green tea, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), can prevent collagen breakdown and enhance sun protection. To reap the benefits of green tea, look for skin care with Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract and/or Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract (natural antioxidants) on the label.
This rainy season, I want to get my hands on skin care like serums, masks and moisturizers, that contain green tea. If my eczema is triggered, I need the anti inflammatory, soothing properties of green tea to calm it. The products I have my eyes on are the:
- Paula’s Choice Resist Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum
- Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA
- Nature Republic’s Green Tea Sheet Masks
- Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
