Three Serums for Three Skin Concerns

wolfandmoroko three serums for three skin concerns

One of my favorite things about skin care is the flexibility. You can change things to adapt to the conditions you face every day, every week, every month, every year.Your skin care routine at 19 will not be the same at 35. One needs to mix, match, add, and drop products to create custom routines for specific skin issues, mainly because: life.

Cue my recent interest in the world of serums. Serums deliver highly concentrated doses of skin care actives and antioxidants in a light-weight formula; which means they are fantastic for addressing specific skin concerns like hydration and brightening. So far in my skin care, I’ve used one serum, the OST vitamin C, and it’s fantastic. I have no complaints. However, without variety, life gets boring, thus the search for other serums to mix things up.

Here are some great serums that recently caught my eye. I hope to add them to my beauty closet with the help of the fantastic online shopping service Intraline Online.(My savvy beauties in Kampala, this service is a godsend. Ask for Chantal, she is amazing!)

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule Serum

Brightening

This Asian serum contains plenty of beneficial fermented plant extracts that have antioxidant and skin protective properties. It’s formulated with hydrating sodium hyaluronate, powerful anti-aging retinol, beneficial plant extracts, and niacinamide, which has anti-inflammatory and brightening properties.

Top that with the gorgeous packaging and the fact that it gives the cult Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum a run for its money and we have no problem getting on the Missha train.

Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum

Aging Well

Procter & Gamble pioneered niacinamide research, and they did not hold back with it in this Olay serum. According to expert reviews, “it contains approximately 2% to 3% niacinamide, and, in this amount, it can increase the skin’s ceramide and fatty acid content as well as have anti-inflammatory action and work to reduce hyperpigmentation.” It also contains peptides which improve the health and appearance of skin.

Bonus: Olay products are practically everywhere in Kampala, my belief is this serum could be a hidden gem somewhere.

SCINIC Honey All In One Ampoule

Hydrating

This rich, hydrating product contains great ingredients like honey extract, propolis extract, royal jelly extract, niacinamide, green tea, and licorice. This would be wonderful for cold, skin drying days.

  1. I own the SCINIC Honey All In One Ampoule, I don’t reach often for it, becaus it is too sticky and did not absorb well.

Money Saving tip: make your own niacinamide concentrat! Thereby you are not dependent on products whose only highlight is niac 🙂
