Product Review Fulom Hydrating Lotion

The El Nino weather I’m experiencing has called for the big guns when it comes moisturizing. When it all comes down to it, I need a hydrating body moisturizer that will be a great base for my sunscreen and is fragrance free. This seems easy enough to find right? Wrong. It’s a Herculean task, so when I found Fulom Hydrating Lotion, it felt like I had found a friend for life.

Fulom is an American skin care brand that formulates all their products without parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate or petroleum. Fulom centers their products on fulvic acid, a potent humic anti oxidant. Humic meaning it’s found in organic matter and is released as the matter decomposes. As you know, great things happen when years of organic matter do their thing…black gold – oil, being a prime example.

In skin care, fulvic acid is extremely beneficial. It’s a powerful antioxidant that penetrates the skin and heals dry, damaged skin conditions.

Fulom Hydrating Lotion

The Product

Fulom hydrating lotion claims to be “a rich deeply penetrating moisturizing lotion to leave your dry skin feeling soft, healthy and hydrate.” Well, I’ve had a really bad bout of eczema on my ankle, so I made sure to pay extra attention and slather it on that particular area, to great results. The skin is softer, doesn’t itch or get flaky anymore. When I recall how raw, inflamed and painful the skin was before it’s clear how my moisture barrier is being restored thanks to fulvic acid and the other great moisturizing ingredients in the lotion.

The lotion also has Vitamin E which is not only a popular antioxidant in skin care but also has hydrating properties.

The lotion is light in texture, white in color and non greasy, quickly absorbing into the skin. I don’t have to wait for more than a minute before I can apply my sunscreen which makes it great for those mornings when you need to quickly get out the door.

Fulom hydrating lotion is a fragrance free formula. I have been actively seeking fragrance free formulations for the past few months since fragrance is a known skin irritant. I already have eczema prone skin; I see no need to go crazy with scented lotion. However, if you do prefer scented lotion, you can easily layer with fragrance since this lotion quickly absorbs into the skin.

The lotion comes in an 8oz plastic tube. Pretty handy for your gym bag or purse, you can pop it in and use it as a hand lotion throughout the day too!

The Ingredients and their Functions (in Brackets)

Water (solvent), Cetearyl Alcohol (emollient), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (occlusive, emollient), Glycerin (humectant), Stearic Acid (emulsifier), Organic Fulvic Acid (antioxidant), Tocopheryl Acetate (antioxidant), Polysorbate 60 (emulsifier), Dimethicone (occlusive), Phenoxyethanol (preservative), Ethylhexylglycerin (preservative), Citric Acid (pH adjuster)

The ingredients show a lotion that has great moisturizing and anti aging properties.

Performance: The lotion is light and effective, hydrating your skin and restoring its healthy self.

Quality: The non greasy formulation is a winner in a number of ways: it’s great to apply under your sunscreen as it quickly absorbs and since it has the antioxidants – fulvic acid and Vitamin E; it also boosts your sun protection. Another win is that it makes a great hand lotion, effective non greasy hand creams are far and few between.

The fragrance free formulation is great for sensitive skin since it’s less likely to irritate your skin.

Value: Worth every penny. It would be arduous to find a better skin care brand that uses the potent antioxidant fulvic acid as a key ingredient.

Where to buy: You can make a purchase from the Fulom Shop here where it retails for US$ 30.75
