What a face mapping skin analysis can tell you about acne and health

Sometimes you do everything right and the zits still break to the surface like they are escaping tiny Great White Sharks underneath your skin. Drinking water, eating barely any processed foods, maintaining a well-rounded skin care regimen with the right products and yet, frustratingly, nothing.  This happened to me recently and like any sane person would, I went to Dr.Google to find a solution. There is some crazy stuff out there…from someone swearing by the topical application of breast milk to the mind-boggling sperm facial.  Now, I’m as open-minded as they get but walking around with sperm like I have an upcoming role in ‘American Pie? No, thank you.

Thankfully, I eventually stumbled across face mapping, a 5000-year-old Asian stream of thought with Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicinal principles. This ancient knowledge is quite powerful, powerful enough, in fact, for a Face Mapping program to be developed by the International Dermal Institute exclusively for Dermalogica to address customer’s skin care concerns. What is Face Mapping?

According to face mapping, different parts of your face correspond to specific organs and body systems. So checking out your problem areas could give you an idea of the underlying issue. I’m not a medical practitioner so I’m not aware how true this all is…worked for me though; two words…allergies and hormones!

Of course, one should not take these as the gospel truth; none of them are 100% accurate or true for everyone. They’re just guidelines that may or may not be for your particular case of acne.

1&2 Digestive Improve your diet, more vegetables please. Hydrate too.
3 Liver Cut out dairy and alcohol. No more cheese and wine nights. You might also have a food allergy.
4,6,8&10 Kidneys Drink up! Rehydrate, rehydrate, rehydrate!
7 Heart High blood pressure. Life adjustments are needed.
5&9 Respiratory Smoking? Quit! Allergies? Adjust your diet and environment.
11&13 Hormones Time to de-stress. Maintain a skin care regimen, eat healthy, sleep and hydrate. Whatever else you do, choose peace. Interestingly, you could be ovulating and you will know on which side!
12 Stomach Increase your fibre intake, drink herbal teas. It’s time to reduce the number of toxins in your system.
14 Illness You are at battle; your body is fighting off a bacterial  infection. Rest, drink fluids and choose peace.
